White Stork

The White Stork (Afrikaans name, Witooievaar) is a common Palearctic migrant between October to May.

In hot weather they defecate on their legs to keep cool. Feeds mostly on insects, caterpillars, locusts and crickets, will also take mice, frogs and tadpoles.

We saw these in the Kruger National Park.
