Violet-Backed Starling Female

The Violet-backed Starling (Afrikaans name, Witborsspreeu) is a common ints-African migrant, visiting from October to April. Feeds mainly on fruit but will also eat insects, often seen hawking for them.

We saw this female Violet-backed Starling, together with Carmine Bee-eaters all hawking insects together, in the Kruger National Park.
