The Tractrac Chat, (Africans name, Woestynspekvreter) is a small, pale bird found mostly in the Namib Desert. It is a near-endemic common resident in the Karoo and desert scrub. Perching on stones or low shrubs it drops to the ground to catch its prey.
We were lucky enough to spot one on a trip into the sand dunes of Namibia.
