Tawny Eagle

When we saw this Tawny Eagle (Afrikaans name, Roofarend) it was a breathtaking moment, it is a large eagle and the colour is a pale toffee. He was resting on this branch surveying his kingdom for a snack or two. Seen at Mala Mala Game Reserve.

Here he was just lifting off to go get his food item. The tawny eagle competes with vultures at large mammal carcasses and often steals food from other raptors.
