Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill

The Southern Yellow-Billed Hornbill (Afrikaans name, Geelbekneushoringvoel) is a common resident in woodland and thornveld.

It is seen almost everywhere in the Kruger National Park and is lovingly nicknamed as the Flying Banana.

They feed mainly on insects, reptiles and small mammals, they also eat fruit and seeds

We saw these while travelling in the Kruger National Park, their sound of Kuk-kuk-kuk can be heard all through the bush.

Here is one seen with a scorpion.
