Red-rumped Parrot

The Red-rumped Parrot is such a little beauty with its turquoise head, blue-green body, and red rump. They usually feed on grass seeds, leaves, and flower buds, sometimes fruit.

The female is olive green and green with a blue shoulder patch. They normally nest in a hollow limb of a eucalypt and lay between three to seven eggs.

We were lucky to see them in the Cattai National Park and the Mt Annan Botanic gardens.
