Red-breasted swallows (Afrikaans name, Rooiborsswael,) are intra-African migrants from Equatorial Africa. I must say they are certainly beautiful birds and their colour is simply striking. We saw them in the Kruger National Park.

They make a mud nest, usually in roadside culverts, with a long entrance tunnel which is built by both sexes but eggs are incubated by the female only.
