Jackal Buzzard

The Jackal Buzzard (Afrikaans name, Rooiborsjakkalsvoel) is a common local resident, feeding mostly on small mammals and reptiles.

Often perch on roadside poles or fences. When hunting they hover almost motionlessly on updrafts. We saw these on the backroads of the Old Malmesbury road.
