Green Wood-hoopoe

We took this photo of a Green Wood-hoopoe (Afrikaans name, Rooibekkakelaar) just outside our room at the camp in Elephant Plains in the Kruger National Park.

Their feathers shimmer a brilliant green in the sun, while they’re busy pulling out grubs from trees and thatching.
