The Common Tern (Afrikaans name, Gewone Sterretjie) is a common, medium sized Tern, mostly seen in large flocks.
The Comon Tern is a Palearctic migrant arriving here in Summer. We see them right along the West Coast.
About 300 000 birds visit with some immature birds remain the year round
