The African Green Pigeon (Afrikaans name, Papegaaiduif) is a shy and secretive bird, seldom showing himself. He is usually found in thick and dense forest areas. The African Green Pigeon feeds almost exclusively on the fruit of the figs, Jackal-berry and White-berry.
We saw them in Kruger National Park.

25 August 2015On 25 August 2015 I saw about a dozen green pigeons foraging in a wild fig tree at ATKV Buffelspoort resort, located between Pretoria and Rustenburg. It was the first time I saw the birds and searched the web to learn more when I discovered your web site. Thank you for the information.
