Yellow Oxalis

The Yellow Oxalis (Afrikaans name Geelsuurings) is a sorrel, which is widespread and found mainly in the Northern, south western and eastern Cape.

The leaves are sharp and sour and are used in salads. In South Africa it is a traditional ingredient in dishes such as waterblommetjiebredie. We see them everywhere in the Western Cape.
