Yellow-Billed Duck

The Yellow-billed Duck (Afrikaans name, Geelbekeend) is a very pretty duck with its scaled feathers, yellow bill and a beautiful iridescent blu strip in its wing. Only the female quacks and it is the true Daffy Duck quack.

We see them often at Intaka Island and Strandfontein Sewage works

We also saw this hybrid Yellow billed duck where the Mallard has been interbreeding with the yellow billed ducks.
