Wood Sandpiper

The Wood Sandpiper (Afrikaans name (Borsruiter) is the most abundant wader in the Kruger National Park. It is a Palearctic, non breeding migrant between August and March.

The Wood Sandpiper feeds on a variety of foods such as insects,molluscs, small fish and some plant material.

We saw them in the Kruger National Park.
