White-Faced Heron

The White-Faced Heron is found throughout Australia, it is a medium sized grey heron with a white face and upper neck.

The White-Faced Heron feeds mainly on small aquatic creatures like fish, frogs, insects and even small reptiles.

During the breeding season, pinkish brown plumes appear on the lower neck and chest. We saw this one fishing at Centennial Park in Sydney
