Southern Carmine Bee-eater

The Southern Carmine Bee-eater (Afrikaans name, Rooiborsbyvreter) is a summer migrant to the Kruger National Park. This bird is a joy to behold with his rosy red and blue colours, especially in flight.

We managed to capture a few of them at the Fish Eagle Terrace in the Mopani Rest Camp.

He started puffing up his feathers when he was singing.
