Red-knobbed Coot

The Red-knobbed coot (Afrikaans name, Bleshoender) is an abudant resident at dams and lakes, eating mainly aquatic plants. As you can see here, it enjoys diving for its food. Shot at the Abrahamskraal hide in the West Coast National Park.

After another dive, this mom shares her catch with her chick.
