Pin-Tailed Whydah With Overgrown Beak

This non-breeding Pintail Whydah (Afrikaans name, Koningrooibekkie) has a badly overgrown beak, how he has survived and is still able to feed himself is amazing.

This is what his beak should look like. The difference between the non-breeding male and the female is that the female has a black upper beak.
