Natal Flame Bush

At first I thought that these were the flowers of the Natal Flame Bush or Alberta Magna, (Afrikaans name Breekhout) but what a surprise to realise that they are actually the fruit of the bush. It is such a beautiful showy tree that gives a magnificent show whether fruiting or in flower.

It flowers between summer and autumn and the bark is used medicinally.
