Lotus Lily

The pink Lotus Lily (Nelumbo nucifera) also known as the sacred lotus, has a wide distribution across Asia. In Indian and Egyptian culture they were considered as sacred.

The seed heads and rhizomes of the plant have also been considered as food in some regions.

We saw them in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, what a stunning flower and the bud is so beautiful too.
