Hardhead Duck

The Hardhead Duck is a pretty duck and Australia’s only true diving duck. Usually staying well out from the shore and rarely coming ashore.

The Hardhead Duck dives deep for small aquatic creatures and plant material.

The male Hardhead Duck has white eyes while the female is slightly paler with dusky eyes. We saw them both in Centennial Park and in the Royal Botanic Gardens.
