Greater Striped Swallow

The Greater Striped Swallow (Grootstreepswael) is larger and paler than the Lesser Striped Swallow and has white ear coverts. It is a common Intra-African summer migrant.

It is found mainly in the grasslands, savanna and agricultural lands.

We have seen them in the Rietvlei Nature Reserve and in the Malmesbury agricultural lands, collecting mud and building nests.
