European Roller

The European Roller, (Afrikaans name, Europese Troupant) breeds in Europe and is a common summer migrant to the Kruger National Park.

This Roller can be seen alongside the roads and in grassy fields where he adopts a “sit and wait” hunting routine.

They feed mostly on beetles, locusts, crickets and small vertebrates.
