Chameleon

We saw this Chameleon (Afrikaans name, verkleurmannetjie or trapsuutjie) crawling across the road in the Kruger National Park. It was dragging it’s one back leg and there was, what looked like a Wahlbergs eagle, circling around him and dropping closer to have a good look.

Looking closer at the photo, the chameleon seems to have a black treadmark over the lower part of his body, which means he could have been driven over by a car.

We moved him into the bush on the side of the road, we didn’t stay to see the end but it was inevitable.
