Cape Glossy Starling Sunning Himself

The Cape Glossy Starling (Afrikaans name, Kleinglansspreeu) is a common and widespread resident across South Africa. Their main foods are insects, nectar from aloes and of course scraps from the picnickers, they get quite tame and have been known to hijack the picnicker’s food if not watched carefully.

We saw this one sunning himself in a picnic area in Kruger National Park, we are not sure if he does it to try and get rid of mites or if he just loves the sun?
