Bokmakierie

The Bokmakierie (Name is the same in English and Afrikaans) is a colourful member of the Bush Shrike family, They feed mainly on insects and fruit although some have been reported eating small animals and even recently reported eating a snake.

We were very lucky to finally get some pics of the Bokmakierie in the West Coast National Park. They are striking with their distinctive black and yellow plumage.
