Bar-Tailed Godwit

The Bar-tailed Godwit (Afrikaans name, Bandstertgriet) is a locally common Palearctic migrant to the West Coast of Southern Africa. It has a long, slightly upturned bill.

A couple of the waders were in their rusty breeding colours.

We saw them in the West Coast National Park.
